New MDG Compliance Reminder: Daily SOP Violations Increasing in Multiple States

Oil Marketing Companies (HPCL, BPCL, IOCL) have recently indicated a rise in daily SOP violations at several retail outlets across different states. These observations were made during routine inspections covering quality, quantity, safety and documentation under the Marketing Discipline Guidelines (MDG).

According to internal reports, the most common lapses noticed include:
✅ Missing or incomplete Density Register
✅ Nozzle Filter Paper Test not recorded daily
Stock Reconciliation Sheet inaccuracies
✅ Unsafe TL unloading practices
✅ Fire extinguishers not pressurized or not displayed correctly
✅ Staff not trained in emergency shutdown procedures

Dealers are strongly advised to conduct a daily internal check before shift opening to ensure all records are updated. Even small gaps in SOP compliance can trigger warning letters, SCNs or financial penalties under MDG clauses.

To stay protected, ensure the following every day:

  • Density & FPT logs
  • TL unloading checklist
  • Fire safety readiness
  • Register maintenance
  • Housekeeping & display compliance
  • Price display verification

PetrolPumpDealersHub.in will continue tracking MDG-related updates and share compliance checklists to help dealers avoid penalties.
